<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I like talk radio.  One of my favorite shows is the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.wapi1070.com/showdj.asp?DJID=38345" rel="nofollow" title="Matt Murphy"  target="_blank">Matt Murphy</a> show on 1070 WAPI.  I listen to talk radio, on AM.  When I switch over to FM, it is because I&#8217;m wanting to listen to music.  Not just any music, I want to listen to classic Rock and Alternative,  Live 100.5 was my other radio station.  I don&#8217;t want to listen to Top 40 and Country.  I don&#8217;t want to listen to those two fat head guys.</p>
<p>So today the Facebook group <a target="_blank" href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=326223102222&amp;ref=nf" rel="nofollow" title="SAVE LIVE 100.5"  target="_blank">SAVE LIVE 100.5</a> was created.  If you are on Facebook join us.  The group has grown in 10 hours to 3,500+ members.</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://bhamterminal.com/blog/2010/02/11/live-100-5-status-uncertain/" rel="nofollow" title="The Birmingham Terminal"  target="_blank">The Radio Carousel returns, unfortunately, for Live 100.5</a></p>
<p>We are also emailing Citadel Broadcasting.  If you want to help try to keep 100.5, you should do the same.  Contact info below:</p>

Who won the Redneck Award?" hspace="5" width="95" height="144" /></a>First and foremost congratulation to the <strong>National Champions University of Alabama</strong>.  In a move not normal for my family we decided to have a little football party and watch the game.   Its unique in my house in the fact that non of us are really into football.   I&#8217;m originally from Texas, my daughter goes to Birmingham Southern, and my wife only has family who graduated from Auburn.  So no real tie to UA except the fact that we are proud Alabamians.</p>
<p><span id="more-1055"></span>So I&#8217;m sure you are wondering, what does this have to do with the Redneck Award?  Well the Austin Statesman has a Columnist aka Joke named John Kelso who wrote an article &#8220;<a target="_blank" href="http://www.statesman.com/news/texas/as-far-as-rednecks-go-alabama-may-have-159671.html" rel="nofollow" title="Statesman.com"  target="_blank">As far as rednecks go, Alabama may have UT beat</a>&#8220;.  Well he got it wrong.</p>
<p>You see under normal circumstances my family would have been &#8220;War Eagle&#8221; all the way, simply because that is where the majority of our family members have graduated and/or attended.  Being that Auburn was done for the year, had no chance of going to or seeing the National Championship, we stood behind the other team.  You see Auburn, is in Alabama the state.  Alabama the school is also in Alabama..</p>
<p>What I never expected to see was the disrespect, the total lack of loyalty to the state, and the complete ignorance that I saw on twitter and Facebook from Auburn fans!  One tweeter that was a stand out, and someone who thinks they represent Auburn was <a target="_blank" href="http://twitter.com/WarBlogle" rel="nofollow" title="Moron"  target="_blank">@WarBlogle</a>.</p>
<p>At one time they say &#8220;Bama fans&#8230;you are the only reason we pull against your team. Not the players, not even the coaches. YOU.&#8221;  &#8230; hum really?</p>
<p>As a person looking from the outside in&#8230; let me just say Kettle let me introduce you to Pot.   So it is Auburn Fans that gets the Redneck award.  At least if I was handing it out.</p>

It is held downtown Birmingham Alabama.  They actually close off the streets of a busy downtown area and setup stages for performers.  This will be my 3rd stages since moving to Birmingham.</p>
<p><span id="more-951"></span>I was told when I first moved here, you don&#8217;t go to City Stages unless you want trouble.  It is horrible, the people are rude, it stinks and there is never anyone any good.</p>
<p>Wow where they wrong, lets see we are going this year to see  38 Special, Doobie Brothers, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Lynyrd Skynyrd!  Yea that is a pretty good line up if you ask me.</p>

<p>I will be there all three days, starting Friday at lunch.   I always purchase my tickets through <a target="_blank" href="http://www.ucpbham.com/calendar-of-events/casual-day-2009.html" rel="nofollow" title="UCP Bham Casual Day 2009"  target="_blank">UCP (United Cerebral Palsy) Bham Casual day</a>.  While purchasing casual day T-Shirts are over for 2009.  You should still donate to the great organization that is <a target="_blank" href="http://www.ucpbham.com/how-can-i-help/contribute-now.html" rel="nofollow" title="Donate to UCP"  target="_blank">UCP Bham</a>!  Talk to your boss and participate in next years Casual Day.</p>

<p>One of the best parts was not from the scheduled sessions.  It was the sessions in the halls that I found the most interesting.   How several very opinionated individuals can get together and discuss everything from the type of music someone listens to, to local Birmingham Politics.</p>
<p>It was good seeing <a target="_blank" href="http://twitter.com/scottkitchens" rel="nofollow" title="@scottkitchens"  target="_blank">old friends</a>, meeting <a target="_blank" href="http://www.evantravers.com/" rel="nofollow" title="@evantravers"  target="_self">new ones</a>, and hanging with <a target="_blank" href="http://anutterwasteoftime.com/" rel="nofollow" title="@shadowhelm"  target="_self">current one</a>.  It was also great meeting our nerd brethern from <a target="_blank" href="http://www.studionashvegas.com/" rel="nofollow" title="@studionashvegas"  target="_blank">Nashville, Hey Mitch</a>.  I took another listen to a radio station I ditched,  Live 100.5 thanks <a target="_blank" href="http://urbanfabric.wordpress.com/" rel="nofollow" title="@ufmusic"  target="_self">Ken</a>.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m looking forward to the next BarCamp and think we could easy handle two a year in Birmingham.   Up next, WordCamp!</p>

<p>A response to a friend. Why I Didn&#8217;t Attend a Tea Party!</p>

<p>I completely 100% agree with you, except the getting involved part.</p>
<h2>We The Federal Government!</h2>
<p>I do believe we can go back to a true United <strong>States</strong> of America, and live by the constitutional rights given to each and every citizen.  The country has and can live up to ideals set forth in the Declaration of Independence or the <a href="http://www.zerosource.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/img_1094.jpg" rel="lightbox[885]"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-890" style="margin: 3px;" title="1776" src="http://www.zerosource.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/img_1094-150x1501.jpg" alt="img 1094 150x1501 Why I did attend the Hoover Alabama Tea Party" width="120" height="120" /></a>Constitution.</p>
<p>While I was there, I did not hear anyone chanting Republican, Republican or Democrat, Democrat.  I heard the chants of USA.   I saw many people explaining their problems with the government.  Guess what, they where not all about Taxation.  I too thought they would be.  Several groups where there taking up signatures for their causes.  I also heard several people explain ways they thought it should or could be fixed.  After all, it has been said</p>
<blockquote><p>That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.</p></blockquote>
<p>Yes nothing that is happening now is new, but some people see and or take it longer then others.  Its like the pain threshold, I prefer to call this one the bullsh*t threshold.  Only when that threshold is reached do people start wanting to do something about it.</p>
<p>In this last election we where faced with two democrats,  I do not believe we <a target="_blank" href="http://www.zerosource.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/img_1090.jpg" rel="lightbox[885]"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-891" style="margin: 3px;" title="Wake Up" src="http://www.zerosource.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/img_1090-150x1501.jpg" alt="img 1090 150x1501 Why I did attend the Hoover Alabama Tea Party" width="120" height="120" /></a>have a two party system anymore.  We now are under a one party system.  The media is controlled by such a party that is why we hear nothing of the <a href="http://www.fairtax.org/" rel="nofollow" title="Fair Tax"  target="_blank">Fair Tax</a>, something I believe in.  It is also the reason fair and equal time was not given to Dr. Paul during the last election.  The only time he was actually on a network any network even the Republican network Fox was when they where trying to make fun of him.  Even the &#8220;<em>Great American</em>&#8221; <a target="_blank" href="http://www.hannity.com/" rel="nofollow"  target="_blank">Sean Hannity</a> wouldn&#8217;t give him the time of day.</p>
<p>I used to call myself a Republican, but I didn&#8217;t feel let down on this last election.  I&#8217;m not even mad about the election itself.  I feel I would have lost either way.  I am also glad for the current economic problems.  I believe in the worst of times, America is at its greatest.  I think America has become a bunch of puds!  I have said and told people watch the unemployment rate rise and you will start to see real customer services.</p>
<p>So while I agree with you, I do NOT believe sitting at home is the answer.  Not doing anything, will never get anything done.  It will take real change, nothing that can come from the elephant or the donkey war.  That change has to start somewhere, the seed has to be planted with someone.  If nothing more then someone reading the fair tax information, and thinking about it.  Then it was worth it.</p>

<p><strong>What about that thing on your back? It was Nasty!</strong></p>
<p><em>Doctor has given me a clean bill of health.  My wife now wants me to wear sun screen but I can&#8217;t, it either smells funny or makes me feel slimmy.  I&#8217;ll just avoid the sun as much as possible.</em></p>
<p><strong>Are you still fat?</strong></p>
<p><em>Fat, yep still fat we joined the gym and since the surgery on my back haven&#8217;t been going as regular as I wished, we are going to start doing that again very soon.</em></p>
<p><strong>Are you still a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker?</strong></p>
<p><em>I haven&#8217;t had a Cigarette in 2 weeks! I don&#8217;t feel any different and still crave the hell out of them.  But I am now an Ex Smoker.</em></p>
<p><strong>What about going Skype?</strong></p>
<p><em>Went with T-Mobile @Home.. Great service so far.  The saving are not as good but I keep my number and have E911.  With our plan we was able to get this with $39.99 cost of equipment and $10 a month.</em></p>

<p>So this is the last time I will mention this, since I don&#8217;t like to get political to much on here.  I was listening this morning to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.wapi1070.com/showdj.asp?DJID=38345" rel="nofollow" title="The Murphy Show" >Matt Murphy</a> on the radio and he was interviewing Joe Babiasz.  He is the guy that started the &#8220;Boycott Alabama Now&#8221; website.  In listening to it, I came to a single conclusion&#8230; he is nothing more then a puppet for Ron Gettelfinger.</p>
<p>He had nothing intelligent to say.  He was even to a point of speaking that I thought he was running for some office?!?! He spoke in circles and such, and couldn&#8217;t answer any one of Mr. Murphy&#8217;s questions with a straight answer.</p>
<p>We also shouldn&#8217;t forget that Mr. Babiasz also works for the big three and has for several hundred years, if I&#8217;m not mistaken.</p>

<p>Surely not everyone in Michigan can be a complete dope, like this guy. So now I say lets ban together and Boycott Old Joe&#8217;s Citizenship. Lets send him to Canada! Expel him to Canada!</p>
<p>Thank you <strong>Mr. Shelby</strong> for voting as you have. You are my Senator and I&#8217;m proud of you! Keep up the good work for all Americans!</p>
<p>What do you think? Should we punish all of Michigan for a single dope? Should we just expel this dope? Let me know, I will follow up soon with the Grass Roots efforts.</p>

<p>Of course all I hear is Five Guys, and with that I”m hooked. I’m already thinking of what I’m getting on my burger. By the way next time you go ask for the Cajun Fries not on the menu but they are a good change.</p>
<p>So we are leaving Five Guys heading into the “Browsing” part of our trip, when I notice a car. You know how they put cars in odd places, just to grab your attention. I believe its a form of advertising and it works, well at least for a guy it does. So I noticed this car sitting at the entrance going in.<br />
