Portable Apps for USB Drive

USBSo you have a snazzy little USB Drive that you tote around. Some may carry it on a key chain, some in a purse, and personally I keep mine in my pocket.  So do you use it for anything? Well I keep a group of Portable Apps on mine.

My Current List:

  • TrueCrypt (Travelers Disk) – Don’t leave home without it, I keep a Encrypted partition on my USB Stick. In here I can keep my SSH keys, VPN Keys, and anything else that I figure should not be left out in the open.
  • Pstart – A way to keep everything organized, portable start menu.
  • NotePad++PE - This is another program I use everywhere I go, this is a must have.
  • 7zip Portable – Free fast Compression Tool
  • Firefox Portable – Web browser for those users that will only keep IE! Yes they are out there.
  • Putty and WinSCP Portable – These are my SSH/SCP clients
  • ClamWinPortable – Been many times I needed to download something, and the user either had an outdated or no virus scanner at all.
  • XAMP – when i’m bored I like to try things, this is Apache WebServer with PHP and Mod_Perl, FileZilla FTP, and MySQL server right on the stick. Fire it up and develop away.

I keep a few small tools on there also, such as ProcExp,  Sopho’s Root Kit Detector, and KL-Detector (key Log Detector). These are very small usually not even an install just a single file to drop on there.

Is there any MUST HAVE tools you have on your USB Drive that I missed? Let me know. I need to put but haven’t Chrome Portable.
